Over the weekend, Jason and I began the transformation of the "Wine Room" into Logan's new playroom! We painted the walls and trim and I'm working on some bright colored art work to make it a little more cheery and boy oh boy is it a different room! As you can see, Logan can't wait to get back in there...he'd go to the gate and stand there just shaking the door to be let back in! :) Once the room is a little more complete I'll take and post some pics.
Also over the weekend I got to spend some adult work time at the WHITE show. It is one of Kansas City's premiere bridal shows where AJK Papery participated. For those of you who didn't know, I've started doing work for Amy Kirkland of AJK (www.ajkpapery.com) who is amazing. Boy, have I found my niche!! You can also check out her blog at www.ajkpapery.blogspot.com
Well, Logan has officially completed two classes of swimming lessons! Tuesday he was feeling a little tired but today he was excited and put his head under water twice and his face in the water several times. He really enjoys looking at the other kids in the class and swimming with me in the lazy river. I tried to get some cute pics of him in his suit but all he wanted to do was crawl around the dirty locker room floor - unfortunatly, this is all I got! It's quite a task getting him dressed, let alone dressing myself - but it's got to get easier, right?! We'll be sure to keep everyone updated on any big swimming milestones, but I think it'll be a while. On the other hand, Jason is convinced he'll be swimming on his own by summer :)
Logan got to spend a little boy time with Jason this afternoon while I ran to the store. Sounds like they had fun but Jason said this monkey wouldn't get off Logan's back...seems like he didn't mind though!
We have a big week ahead of us since we start swimming lessons Tuesday!! Stay tuned... :)
Well, Logan wanted to wish his Uncle Alex good luck since he's headed back to Columbia and starts school again Monday. He even hammed it up for the camera! Just so everyone knows, he also has an Iowa sweatshirt that he wears too. He wants everyone to know that his heart is with the Iowa Hawkeyes, but likes Mizzou second since his Uncle Alex goes there. Just setting the record straight... :)
Well, now that Logan is 8 months old, he is finally getting teeth...yes, you heard it right, not just one tooth but two! He's been working on his bottom two teeth coming in and they are taking FOREVER to get here! I've tried getting pics of them, but it is nearly impossible, so I think we'll at least have to wait until they fully come in. Because of the teeth, Logan was a little cranky last week, but is being a real trooper this week despite the pain. He's been a lot of fun over the last several weeks - giggling and moving all over the place. He isn't even close to walking but is trying his hardest by pulling himself up and then letting go, which results in a lot of falling, but he's getting the hang of it!
Logan's friend Jackson came over today to play, which was fun since they are both moving around really well. Jackson just turned 1 year on Sunday and Logan has fun being around him. The boys played for a while inside and we went for a walk since it's almost 60 degrees outside! They had fun playing together and the moms had even more fun catching up with each other! :) We'll probably head out for another walk this afternoon and enjoy the weather while we can since it's supposed to be in the single digits again by next week. Bummer...when is Spring coming again!?!
Happy New Year 2009 to everyone - and GO HAWKS! We were able to spend this long weekend at the Lake with both sides of our immediate family, which was lots of fun! Logan is getting more and more advanced with his crawling and cruising every day. We hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday.
I like to think of myself as an outdoor loving, gourmet food eating, amateur picture taking, peace loving, paper obsessed, 20 something who is loving every minute of this life. In all reality though, the atributes that most strongly hold true are that I'm the wife to my best friend, the mother of my precious little toddler and the cuddler of our gigantic black lab. Life is Good...
Jason is my number loving, nautical and outdoorsy, fun loving guy. He's the man behind the curtain that allows me to do fun things like play with Logan all day and have a few spare minutes to keep the blog updated! He's a fantastic father and husband - who could ask for more? Life is Good...
Logan is the crazy maniac around the house we call a toddler. He loves running, wagon rides, sticks and chasing our dog Braisy around the house - he's all boy! When he's not eating bananas or cheese, he's busy finding something to climb on. He's full of giggles, smiles and lots of fun - Life is Good...
Braisy is our almost 5 year-old spirited black lab. Affectionate, loyal and attention hungry, he loves swimming, chewing bones and napping in his spare time. We couldn't ask for a better family member - Life is Good...
