Standing Ovation

This week Logan began standing independently. We were playing in his room and all of a sudden he was just standing there with his toy, so I started counting and got to 20 when he finally sat down. He isn't an expert stander by any means, but is well on his way! Unfortunatly, he's got a cold and two new top teeth coming in but as usual has been quite the trooper! Jason and I are leaving tonight to go have a mom and dad vacation skiing in Colorado with friends and Logan gets to stay home while both sets of grandparents visit - lucky duck! Hopefully, he doesn't take his first steps while we're away...just kidding :)

Oink, Oink!

Last night Logan was HUNGRY! He started out eating two whole graham crackers and then moved on to a half cup of whole wheat rotini with sauce. I also added about 1/4 of a chicken breast cut up as well as some corn - strange combo, but he didn't mind at all! He then ate about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and half of a huge pear. He was still acting hungry so he then finished off his third graham cracker in addition to his two cups of water. It was enough to make me full just watching him and you'd have thought we never fed him before! This is a pic after he was full and happy! :)

Logan's On the Move!

Napa Valley

For our most recent California adventure we visited Napa Valley again; Logan's been there before, except he was in my stomach last time! We were worried that since it was such a long day trip he'd get fussy, but he took naps during the drive and loved peeking at the scenary and people as we walked around. He even got to take his first tram ride up to Sterling Vinyards and as you can see from the big smile on his face, loved it! We're getting sad as our trip is coming to an end and tomorrow is our last day :( Hopefully the flight home will go as well as the flight here did. Now, for getting him back on Kansas time...wish us luck!

Squaw Valley and Spaghetti

Yesterday Jason, Papa Dippel and I were able to go skiing in Squaw Valley while Logan spent all day with Granny Franny. We had a great time and while it was a little chilly, it was sunny most of the day and not busy at all which was fantastic! Logan had fun too and got to make a mess with his spaghetti, have a Cheerio picnic and just play all day long! We were a little worried since he's been having a lot of separation anxiety, but seemed to do really well - yeah! Thanks Granny Franny for letting us have a fun day out!

Sleeping Like a Baby - Yeah Right!

Well, night one was not so good...in fact, it was probably the worst night of sleep we've had since Logan was born! Luckily, night two was back to normal though!! :) And, despite Logan's significant lack of sleep, as you can see, he was as happy as can be.

We had a fun day just hanging out with Aunt Dana and Uncle B and Granny Franny and Papa D. We went on a nice walk, but unfortunatly the weather is unseasonably chilly...we're hoping it will warm up later this week, but it's not looking like it. Today we're off to run errands and do a little shopping around town.

Logan is really getting into playing with the mini basketballs and is actually pretty good. :) He has figured out where to put the ball to make a basket! GO...LOGAN!

We're Alive!

Okay, okay...it's been a while since we've posted anything, but we've been busy!! As you can see, today was a big day for Logan - his first plane ride! We are now in Sacramento, California visiting Aunt Dana and Uncle Brandon. :) We were worried how the plane ride would go, but Logan did fantastic. He didn't sleep much, but other than that did great. We'll be here all week just hanging out so we should hopefully have many more updates to make up for our lack of posts over the last week or so.

Since Logan is two hours off schedule and didn't take naps he'll probably go to bed early - hopefully he'll sleep all night and won't be too far off schedule! I guess we'll find out...
