Tiny Tim Logan

Today Logan had to head into the doctors office for a dreaded flu shot. He was actually quite the trooper though and only cried immediately after the shot and seemed just fine after that. Before the shot, I asked the nurse if we could weigh him since we haven't been in since his 12 month well visit. In my head, I was thinking he'd be 28, maybe 30 pounds...he feels heavy when you lug him around all day! When he got on the scale we waited...and he's only 23.5 pounds! I was thinking that sounded really small but after doing some research sounds like he's around the 25th percentile, which isn't bad considering he's been lower than that the majority of his life.

Later in the day as a little reward for suffering so graciously, I let him ride the mechanical horse at the grocery store - he had a ball. I should have gotten a picture, but was just laughing with him too hard to pull the camera out. We must have looked like quite the pair giggling away by the mechanical horse!

Boys Weekend

Well I guess I should preface this post. This is Jason posting, and Sara doesn't even know that I'm posting. So if the post is missing her usual style and wittiness, you'll have to forgive me. But I figured I would let everyone know what Logan and I did this weekend. So here goes, my first blog post ever.

As the title implies, Sara wasn't with Logan and I this weekend. She made a trip back home, so Logan and I decided to head to the lake. I guess the title is a little mis-leading, as Granny Frannie and Papa D were at the lake with us. But you get the picture. The weekend started off great with Logan hitching a ride to the lake with the grandparents. I headed down after work, and so the weekend began. Overall it was a great weekend. The weather was great, Logan had fun hanging out with his grandparents, and most importantly we both made it back home with no injuries to report. I think Logan did it all this weekend, drove Papa D's boat, drove the waverunner, played with his friend Mason, made his first trip to Frankie & Louies, played on the sand beach, got a new sweatshirt, and didn't get much sleep. Below are some pics from the weekend. I apologize as they aren't up to Sara's standards, but I did the best I could with a camera phone.

He was out w/in 5 minutes on the ride home.......

We've Got a Climber

Ladies and Gents, it's official, we've got a climber on our hands - you can see the proof. We've walked into the playroom before and found Logan on top of the storage bins (which are actually meant for kids to climb on - yes, older kids, not 15 month olds!). This time was a little different though because this was, not the second...third...but fourth time I had caught him up there this afternoon! Finally, I just had to pull out the camera and snap a few shots without him seeing me. By the end of my little photo shoot, he was climbing to the top tier trying to stand up with no hands! Yikes!! He's a pistol I tell ya :)

Sitting Pretty

Since Logan has difficulty getting up on the couch alone (not sure where he gets those short legs!?), he took it upon himself to find a new place to sit while watching Sesame Street and Royals games with Jason. One time we flipped over the lid to the storage ottomans that hold a few toys (so he could play with his toys) and he just sat right down in the lid and watched the TV. The look on his face said "I've been waiting all this time to sit here - finally, thank you!"
Waving "hi" to Elmo

Be sure to check out Logan's latest video in the LoganLive sidebar! We've been having fun teaching him to nod his head "yes" and "no" - I'm guessing we'll be regretting the "no" part here in a few weeks. :)

How'd He Get So Cute?

I spend a lot of time of course staring at my baby, thinking about how absolutely adorable he is - I wonder, does anyone else think so? It must be a mom thing because I've discussed with some of my other mom friends how we all think we each have the most adorable little guy on the planet. Who knows, maybe it's just me, but I'm pretty set that he's the most precious thing I've ever seen and no one can change my mind about that!

Ring, Ring...Banana Phone

Ring, Ring, Ring, Ring, it's the Banana Phone! Some of you may or may not know of Logan's love of music. He loves to dance and imitate the words the artist sings. As soon as we started feeding him banana's he was holding them to his ear. We finally figured out it's because of Raffi's song: Bananaphone. What a smart little guy!

Not only are his 'Bananaphone' moves entertaining but you should see him stuff half the banana into his mouth and try to chew it up like a little monkey - hilarious!

Spray Park

This weekend we stopped by the Loose Park Spray Park since it was nearly 100 degrees. It was a fun way to cool off and also get out of the house for a little bit. Logan was a bit skeptical at first but ended up having a great time. After the Spray Park we stopped by to visit the ducks and geese for a while which - by no surprise - was his favorite part of the afternoon!

"Hmm...I'm not so sure about all this spraying water"

"I guess my mom says it's cool? I'll think about touching it...I guess"

"Fun!"

"Weeee!!!"

Sliding Pirate

Over the weekend, Logan was able to play on a pirate's playground for the second time this summer - this time was significantly better though because he was able to go down the slide...by himself. Yes everyone, he thinks he's a big kid now because he can slide by himself!
Not only did he get to play on a pirate's playground, but he was able to swim in his pool - with a friend! Audrey came over to the cabin to swim in the froggy pool for her first time. Logan had a lot of fun trying to splash her and was pretty good about sharing his toys...something tells me this is just the beginning of the splashing bit...
