Logan Loves to Read!

Yesterday Logan and I decided to hit up the library to find some new books and Cd's. Logan had a great time since they have a little children's area where he could play and look at books. If you didn't already know, Logan LOVES to read! I'll catch him sitting in the corner of his playroom with all of his books sprawled out, just looking at the pictures and thumbing through them - too cute!!
Also, on a side note, yesterday since it was so cold, we determined that it was a sweat suit kind of day. I initially pulled out his Mizzou outfit since they had won the night before, but then thought I'd play a little game. In a very unbiased way (promise!), I asked him which one he wanted to wear by holding it up and he immediately grabbed the Iowa sweatshirt - can you believe he already knows right from wrong!! :)

Giggles Dippel

Logan has been so happy lately and just laughing at everything! He is becoming much more observant of things around the house and is getting really good at associating specific words with the appropriate object. A funny example: when I ask him, "Logan, where are the pretty flowers?" he'll reach and shriek in excitement for the daffodils in the vase. For some reason, he loves flowers - it's a great excuse to be able to keep fresh flowers in the house! :) He also loves balls! He'll bounce his ball around the room and giggle in excitement when Jason holds him on top of it and bounces him around. Too fun!!

It Was A 10-Step Day!

10 steps today...he's getting better!

Gotta Hop!

You've seen the clip of him dancing to Day-O, but this is only a taste of his dancing when he really gets into it - he is going to be a WILD CHILD!

Five Steps, Baby!

Logan has been standing for a couple weeks and
will take a step or two here and there, but today took five steps in a row!! He seemed excited but not nearly as excited as Jason and me :) Unfortunately, it's still hit or miss and 95% of his transportation happens via crawling but it seems like it will be here before we know it. The weather is beautiful and is supposed to be in the 70's most of the week, so we'll be hitting the park as much as possible. Hope everyone else enjoys the week too!!

Feeling Green...

While we try to be as eco-friendly as possible, that's not what we're talking about here -- it's almost St. Patrick's Day! Logan and I try to get out of the house every day, but on Friday's we always try to go somewhere new. Today we decided to go to a couple shops in Brookside that we haven't been to before - they were great! Logan wore his green sweatshirt since St. Patrick's Day is coming up and got a free green balloon from the nice lady at the party shop - he thought it was awesome (until it popped in our faces 10 minutes after getting home!) He was in need of a new lunch bag for PDO and picked out the green frog bag! Earlier this week he got a new green ball at the grocery store too...so I wasn't kidding, we're really feeling green this week!

First Day-O of School

Today Logan had his first day at "school," which is a Parents Day Out program so I can go to work at AJK Papery for a while and take care of errands. We were all nervous on how he'd do since he's never really spent a day with "strangers," - needless to say, it was much easier on him than on me. When I left him, he didn't even look up to say bye! His teachers said he had a couple rough moments, but overall did great (and he even took a nap!).

What's New?

Well, you ask what's new with the Dippels? Now that we're back from California and skiing in Colorado, we're ready to get back to normal!! Jason and I had a wonderful time and are thankful to both of our parents for watching Logan - he did great!! While we were gone, it sounds like he ate A LOT (so much that both Jason and I could tell he'd grown!) and did a lot of laughing of course.

Since we've been home, it's been difficult to find time to blog - but at last! Logan continues to amaze us and his personality continues to shine through each day; he sure is a little pistol. The weather was so nice last week that we went to the park nearly every day and also had a picnic in the front yard - our neighbors probably think I'm such a weirdo :) Logan is continuing to stand for longer periods and is becoming fearless. Sometimes he'll just stand up, focus on a destination a couple feet away and just try to make a run for it. Unfortunately, his legs aren't working quite how he'd like them to, so he topples over, but it won't be long, that's for sure. Now that we're home, I'm hoping to get more regular again with updates, so stay tuned!
