Country Boy

Logan loves the country - period. We went to Macomb for the weekend so Logan could visit his Grandma Jill and Grandpa Ron (as well as a short, but wonderful appearance by his GG). We visited the pumpkin patch that Grandpa has been slaving away over so that Logan can show off his Halloween costume for the first time of the year as well as pick pumpkins this coming October. He splashed around in the pool, "played" ladder ball, carried around a little toad, went for many wagon rides, helped picked fresh vegetables from the garden and was able to be a part of another one of Braisy's family reunions.

It's not as if he hasn't been to the country before, but as he's getting older he seems to be loving it more and more. As we all know, he's all boy and where better to explore than outside in the country!

Monkeying Around

Logan has been having a lot of fun goofing around with his giant 'monkey' lately. He specifically likes to wear his hat around (which probably weighs more than Logan himself). As you can see from the pictures, it doesn't bother him a bit that the hat is just a little too big. He also enjoys just sitting in his monkey's lap and reading a book or letting the monkey cuddle him - seriously, he wraps the monkeys arms around him and just sits there - adorable!

What a Ham...

This last weekend we were able to spend a long week at the Lake for CrabFest - what's becoming an annual party thrown at the cabin. We were lucky because Logan's Aunt Dana and Uncle Brandon were able to come into town and Logan got to spend extra time with them which he really had fun with. Logan spent most of the week showing off, dancing, giggling, making funny faces, as well as pushing around his truck with (not dirt and rocks) but... a little dog in it - we all got quite a kick out of it!

"Point to Your Nose"

As most other parents of 14-month olds are doing, we've been working with Logan on pointing to his eyes, hair, ears, etc. He's done really well with it over the last several months until the last couple weeks when we say, "Point to your nose," and he just picks his nose. I tell him again, "No, POINT to your nose," and he just picks deeper! I'm convinced that Jason taught him this sometime when I wasn't around, but he continues to deny it. We'll keep working with him but I am really hoping this one is just a phase!

Vroom! Vroom!

Well, Logan's water machine infatuation has begun. While at the Lake he spends the majority of his time pointing and clapping at the boats and wave runners. He loves going for rides and when we're not up to taking him out, he settles for just sitting on the wave runner - Vroom! Vroom!

Introduction to the Wagon

Earlier this summer, every time Logan and I went to the store, we saw a bright red wagon starring us down. We watched as the price dropped, and every week I kept thinking, there is no way it will go any lower... Needless to say, it dropped to $23.99 and I had to snatch it up. Initially we weren't sure how much Logan would like it this year since he loves just laying back in his stroller and looking around. After trying it once, we found out quickly - Logan LOVES his wagon! We've already gotten our money's worth and I have a feeling that he'll keep on riding until a wheel falls off or an axle breaks...

After Traveling 3,500 Miles...We're Back Together

After Jason and I traveled over 2,700 miles to and around Yellowstone and Logan traveled 800 miles to Macomb and Chicago, we are happy to say we're safe and glad to be getting back into our normal routine!

Jason and I had a great time during our trip to Yellowstone. We covered a lot of ground both in the car and on foot. We did more than we thought we were capable of, including fording "streams" (more like a gushing river!), hiking 1,600 feet in 1.5 miles carrying our giant packs, sleeping right next to bear scat (meaning that there was a bear in the area recently) as well as many other adventures! Here are some pics, although I have to say, they don't do the trip justice at all!

Logan had a great time on his trip too! Grandma Jill and Grandpa Ronnie took him to Chicago to see his GG (Great Grandma), Alexander the Great, as well as his Great, Great Nana! While we both had such fun trips, we're all happy to be back together!
